Short Bio

Carlos Marcelo Pedroso received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana (PUCPR) in 1994 and his Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal Technological University of Parana (UTFPR) in 2006.

From 1994 to 2000, served as a professor at Universidade Positivo (formerly Faculdades Positivo), and from 2000 to 2012 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná. Currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraná, with extensive teaching and researching experience in a diverse range of subjects, including Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Performance Modeling and Evaluation, Structured Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Compiler Construction.

He served as director of the Computer Engineering faculty at Pontifical Catholic University of Parana from 2006 to 2012, member of the board of the Engineering and Agronomy Council of the State of Paraná between 2013 and 2015, Vice-coordinator of Electrical Engineering of UFPR between 2016 and 2017, and Coordinator of Electrical Engineering of UFPR between 2018 and 2019.

Currently serves as a professor in the undergraduate Electrical Engineering program, while also supervising master's and doctoral students in their research.

Research interests include Internet protocols, modeling and performance evaluation, multimedia systems (with a focus on video streaming), resource scheduling for 4G/5G/6G networks, Internet of Things (IoT) communication technologies, and quality in engineering education.
